HONG Kong shares have risen 0.92 per cent in the opening minutes of trade, following the release of improved US jobless claims data but a mixed bag of corporate earnings.
The Hang Seng Index on Friday was 206.42 points higher at 22,607.66.
Chinese shares were up 0.30 per cent in early trading, led by gains in financial stocks, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 6.70 points to 2,206.01.
