A HI-5 cast member since 2009, Lauren Brant's sense of adventure was instilled at an early age.
A family holiday to the Comoros Islands off Africa when she was 10 years old ignited a curiosity for all things travel and a dream to see the world.
Favourite overseas holiday?
LB: I'm pretty lucky, I did a lot of travel with my family growing up but my favourite holiday was when I was 10. We went to the Comoros, a group of islands off South Africa. It's untouched and very natural. The water is pure and there's only one resort - there's absolutely nothing to do. Not many people have been there, let alone heard of it.
Worst thing you've eaten while travelling?
LB: In Cambodia I ate a dish called ant and beef or something. It's literally beef mixed in with ants of all different colours and sizes. It was OK but as soon as you let your mind think about what you were eating it was disgusting.
What do ants taste like?
LB: They put spices on top so I couldn't really tell. Have you ever squashed an ant? They stink. It wasn't that bad, I could have a few mouthfuls.
Best thing?
LB: In Singapore there's a restaurant called Banana Leaf in an area called Little India. It's traditional Indian food where you don't use knives and forks. You eat with your fingers. They just slap the food on to your banana leaf and you use your hands. That's one of my favourite places to go for a meal.
Do you collect souvenirs?
LB: Yes, there are three things that I like to collect. I always like to bring a candle from wherever I have been. I try to find a Christmas decoration so that I can put them on my tree at the end of the year and see all the places I have been to. And I like to buy tea towels because you can use them every day.
Has anything gone wrong?
LB: I had chicken pox when I was in Singapore with Hi-5. I was in isolation for two weeks. I obviously caught it off one of the children I was performing for. I'd sit in my hotel room and try to figure out which one it was (laughs).
Top of your travel list?
LB: I really want to go to the Greek Islands and I've never been on a cruise, so that's on my list as well.
Big city hotel or B&B?
LB: Five-star, big city, luxury hotel. Anywhere with an amazing bath.
Hi-5 Some Kind of Wonderful is screening nationally at Hoyts Cinemas now.
